Corinne Leroy and Karim Annouche from the RATP team Paris competed against 44 other tram drivers from all over Europe on June 4, 2017 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In a thrilling finale, the French team relegated the teams from Berlin (Franka Sonntag and Torsten Franz) and Frankfurt (Sandra Kuhn and Thilo Korbien) on the places two and three. Franka Sonntag from the BVG team was the champion in the male and female single drivers competition as well.
Baton Handover Ceremony
At the end of the day, the president of MetroTenerife, Carlos Enrique Alonso Rodriquez, handed over the baton to Wolfgang Arnold, member of the board of Stuttgarter Straßenbahn AG. The TRAM-EM was a great European festival around the public transport once again with 23 teams from 14 nations once again. From now on: we are looking forward to the 7th European Tramdriver Championship on May 5, 2018 in Stuttgart.
