Erstmal in der TRAM-EM Geschichte wurde ein Startplatz verlost. Die Nachfrage zur Teilnahme bei der diesjährigen  Straßenbahn-Europameisterschaft übertrifft alle Erwartungen. Das wachsende Interesse aus ganz Europa zwang die Organisatoren in Frankfurt zu einer Verknappung der deutschen Startplätze. Frankfurt ist als Gastgeber gesetzt und Leipzig als Partnerstadt ebenso. Der glückliche Dritte deutsche Teilnehmer ist das Team aus Berlin, dass im Losverfahren am 16. April ermittelt wurde. Die Verlosung wurde live im Internet übertragen und Kann hier angeschaut werden.

For the first time in TRAM-EM history, a starting place was raffled off. The demand for participation in this year's European Tramdriver Championship exceeds all expectations. The growing interest from all over Europe forced the organizers in Frankfurt to reduce the number of German starting places. Frankfurt is set as host and Leipzig as a partner city as well. The lucky third German participant is the team from Berlin, which was chosen in a lottery on April 16th in Frankfurt. The raffle was broadcast live on the Internet and can be viewed here.

Pour la première fois dans l'histoire du TRAM-EM, une place de départ a été tirée au sort. La demande de participation au championnat européen des conducteurs de tramway de cette année dépasse toutes les attentes. L'intérêt croissant de toute l'Europe a contraint les organisateurs de Francfort à réduire le nombre de places de départ allemandes. Francfort est désignée comme ville hôte et Leipzig comme ville partenaire également. Le troisième heureux participant allemand est l'équipe de Berlin, désignée par tirage au sort le 16 avril.
